Two lawyers with an impressive home library and a fluffy white cat named Ellen wanted to create a playful brand for their personal collection, turning their reading space into something locally famous among friends.

Develop a whimsical brand identity that celebrated their love of books and their cat, complete with swag they could gift to friends. The goal was to take their private passion project and give it the polished, "official" treatment as an inside joke that actually worked.

I leaned into the charm of the concept, designing a logo that incorporated literary elements with a nod to Ellen. We created a cohesive brand system that included bookplates, library cards, tote bags, and other swag that made their home library feel like a real institution. The tone balanced sophistication with playfulness, fitting for two professionals who don't take themselves too seriously.

Their library became a conversation starter. Friends now request "library cards" and the branded swag has made their collection a beloved local landmark in their social circle. What started as an inside joke became a fully realized brand that brings joy every time someone borrows a book.
